On to Craig, Alaska and Prince of Wales Island

If you decide to plan your own trip, you will need to get flights from your nearest commercial airport to Ketchikan Alaska. You will need to fly with Alaskan Airlines from Seattle to Ketchikan. Once you arrive at the Ketchikan Airport, our meet-and-greet services will help you with your luggage and provide shuttle service around Ketchikan if necessary. If you are spending the night in Ketchikan they will transport you to the hotel and assist with your checkin and checkout. Your departure from Ketchikan will be scheduled on a float plane and our meet-and-greet staff will assist you in getting to the airport for your departure. Your float plane flight will be between 30 minutes and 1hour 20 minutes depending on where The Lost Coast Explorer is located at that time. We will meet you where the float plane lands and assist with transferring your luggage onto The Lost Coast Explorer Once there, let the adventure begin!

On your departure we will schedule your float plane out from our location to Ketchikan. Once again our meet-and-greet service will assist you with all necessary transfers between the float plane and your commercial flight or hotel. One of the nice things about our location is that our guests can fly into Ketchikan in one day from anywhere in the United States and connect with the float plane out to The Lost Coast Explorer all in one day. You can also depart The Lost Coast Explorer on the early float plane flight and make it all the way home on a commercial flight in one day. This is a great convenience for the traveler that is limited on vacation time.

Worried about weather problems? Generally they are not a concern because if the float planes cannot fly there is a ferry that travels from Ketchikan to Prince of Wales Island. If necessary, our meet-and-greet service will transfer you to the ferry in Ketchikan, help you aboard and we will pick you up at the ferry terminal that evening.
